From Truck to a Fully Operational Cannabis Farm in 7 Days: Our M-001 Is Up and Running in Bockenem

For months, our farm existed mainly on paper – in plans, applications, technical drawings and a whole lot of paperwork. Now it is finally standing: In Bockenem, Germany, we have installed our RENT4GROW M-001 Farm Module for the Cannabis Social Club Blazing Chiefs e.V.

And here is the exciting part: It took us just one single day to position and assemble the three large modules. After that, we moved on to the electrical and water connections, system configuration and extensive testing. After around seven days in total, the complete indoor farm is technically ready for cultivation.

For us, the installation was more than just a special moment. It perfectly demonstrates what our concept is all about: preparing as much of the professional indoor cultivation infrastructure as possible in advance and reducing the work required at the final location to a minimum.

Three Trucks, Three Modules and One Brilliant Crane Operator

Our M-001 consists of three individual modules. Each one was transported to Bockenem on its own truck.

Once on site, a crane took care of unloading and positioning the modules. Surprisingly little manpower was required: Apart from the crane operator, only one additional person was needed to attach the lifting chains to the modules.

What happened next was quite a sight.

Several tonnes of container modules floated across the property before being lowered centimetre by centimetre into their designated positions. Our crane operator turned out to be a true surgeon behind the controls, positioning the modules with remarkable precision.

After all those months of building applications, technical drawings, certificates and meetings with authorities, it was a fantastic moment to finally see these huge modules floating through the air – and shortly afterwards standing exactly where there had previously been nothing but lines on a plan.

By the end of the day, the complete M-001 was in place.

One Day to Install the Farm – Then the Fine-Tuning Begins Of course, positioning the modules alone does not make a professional indoor farm operational.

Once the three modules were in their final positions and connected to one another, the technical commissioning process began.

Over the following days, the electrical installation was completed and the water connections were installed and tested.

Then came the fine-tuning:

• Setting up the air-conditioning systems

• Testing the irrigation system

• Calibrating the sensors

• Configuring the lighting

• Programming the control systems

• Checking the security and alarm systems

• Performing a complete system test run

After around seven days in total, three delivered modules have become a fully configured and tested indoor cannabis cultivation facility.

And because Blazing Chiefs already holds its cultivation licence, the club can practically begin cultivation as soon as the final tests are complete.

What Is Inside the M-001 Farm Module?

The M-001 was designed as a complete solution for professional, controlled indoor cannabis cultivation. The goal is not simply to fit as many plants as possible into a given space. Climate control, lighting, irrigation, sensors and automation all need to work together as one integrated system.

Here are the key specifications of our M-001:

• 3 interconnected modules

• Total area: approx. 93 m²

• Cultivation area: approx. 44 m²

• Capacity: up to 396 plants

• Up to 6 harvests per year

• Estimated annual yield potential: approx. 184–330 kg, depending on genetics, cultivation methods and actual growing conditions

• Maximum power demand: approx. 65 kW

• Water demand during flowering: up to approx. 198 litres per hour

• On-site installation: 1 day

• Connections, configuration and system testing: approx. 7 days in total until technical readiness

This means a CSC does not receive an empty container shell that still requires months of construction work. Instead, it receives a complete system specifically designed for professional indoor cultivation.

44 m² of Cultivation Space on a Former Hotel Car Park Another interesting question that came up during our Bockenem project was: How much land does a farm like this actually require?

The answer is surprisingly straightforward.

Today, the M-001 stands on what used to be a rear car park belonging to a hotel, at the location where Blazing Chiefs has registered its club.

Of course, this does not mean that a cannabis farm can simply be placed anywhere. Our facility also required a building permit. During the planning process, we had to take into account, among other things, the required distances from surrounding buildings specified for this particular project.

However, once a suitable location has been found and the necessary building regulations have been addressed, the modular concept requires considerably less space than many prospective operators initially expect. ________________________________________

Permits Take Time. The Actual Installation Doesn't.

This was probably one of the most important lessons we learned from the entire project.

The path through the German approval process can be long. Together with Blazing Chiefs, we experienced this first-hand.

Building applications, site plans, structural calculations, certificates, coordination with authorities and repeated requests for additional information took considerably more time than the actual technical implementation. And that is exactly why the day of installation was such an important milestone for us:

Once we finally had the green light to proceed, things moved quickly.

One day was all it took to position all three modules in their designated locations. After that, the remaining work consisted of establishing the necessary connections, configuring the systems and thoroughly testing every function. After around seven days, the M-001 is technically ready for operation.

For future CSC projects, this distinction is crucial: Permits and approvals need to be prepared professionally and as early as possible. But once those requirements are in place, the farm itself does not need months of additional construction work. ________________________________________

Buying Is Not the Only Option

A professional indoor cultivation facility represents a significant investment – particularly for a newly established Cannabis Social Club. That is why Blazing Chiefs chose a different model: The club leases its M-001 from RENT4GROW.

We also supported the club in evaluating its financing options and finding a suitable solution.

Our goal is to give clubs access to professional cultivation technology without necessarily having to finance the entire investment from their own funds at the very beginning.

Which option makes the most sense will always depend on the individual club, its membership growth, location and financing situation. ________________________________________
